Wheels4Hope presented the keys at a Double Car Blessing on February 15, 2017
A double car blessing ceremony was held on February 15, presenting Mark Jones and James Bloodworth with the keys to their vehicles. Mark is the proud owner of a 2008 Mazda 6, and James drove off as the owner of a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country.
Both Mark and James have been receiving housing and support services from Pardoned By Christ. Mark’s travel time to his full-time job will be reduced significantly. He will get back 5 hours of each day through having his own transportation; which he will spend in activities like Bible study and studying for his Commercial Driver’s License. Having his own vehicle will be life changing! Mark shared, “I am truly grateful for the chance to own my own car!!”
Paying for rides, either by bus or Uber, has been James’ primary means of transportation to work. As the owner of a minivan, he will save money and time to allow him to participate in a 2nd job. These changes will benefit him tremendously economically.
Wheels4Hope began our partnership with Pardoned By Christ in 2016 through their Transitional Home for men. Over forty agencies are partnered with Wheels4Hope in the Triangle area. Agencies work with their clients towards self-sufficiency goals before referring individuals and families in need of transportation to the Wheels4Hope program.
