The Independent Garage Owners of North Carolina (IGONC) Triangle Chapter will be meeting at Wheels4Hope and starting their monthly meeting with a Wheels4Hope car blessing.
Many of the garages attending support the local community working in partnership with Wheels4Hope to provide affordable, reliable transportation to families and individuals in need of transportation. Donated vehicles are repaired by the garages with parts supplied by Wheels4Hope. Agency clients in need of transportation are referred to Wheels4Hope to purchase a repaired vehicle for $500. Having safe, reliable transportation allows individuals and families to increase their access to employment, education, church, and civic activities.
On Tuesday evening at 6 PM, the recipients will be a grandmother and her 3 year old granddaughter. Erica Stulpin will be the proud owner of a 2005 Kia Amanti sedan.
Erica was able to get connected with Passage Home after she lost her job and was living out of her car. Erica was blessed to get into housing with Passage Home just days before losing her vehicle. Erica recently started a new job working full-time. Currently this family is walking and using cabs for transportation. Erica shared, "Receiving a car will help me get to work and do activities with my granddaughter, whom I am raising. This is totally a true blessing."
