Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words! As you can see, getting behind the wheel of HIS car for the first time was a special moment for Trevon. This was a moment that he has looked forward to and worked so hard to achieve and Trevon was overcome with emotion. With the help of our wonderful partners at the Masonic Home for Children, Trevon was able to purchase his first car, a Honda Accord, from our vehicle program! Trevon, like many young adults in our community, found himself on his own at the age of 18, still in high school. After staying with friends for a while his football coach referred him to the Masonic Home for Children. Trevon signed himself into the Independent Living Program and has been there for over a year now. With the support of the agency, Trevon is now enrolled in school at Vance-Granville Community College and works part-time at Bojangles. Trevon was excited to have his own vehicle so he can become independent. He looks forward to using his car to get to school, work, and to visit with his younger brother and sister. Trevon, your Wheels4Hope family is proud of you - keep up the good work!
We celebrated a car blessing with Moshimalee here at the Wheels4Hope Triangle Garage! Moshimalee is a mom to six children ranging in ages from 1-10 yrs old. She is now the owner of a Nissan Quest, a minivan that she plans to surprise her kids with after school. Moshimalee has been receiving services from Housing for New Hope for almost a year now. She works full-time covering third shift at Wake Med. When Moshimalee's vehicle broke down a year ago she began renting a car each week in order to maintain her job. Moshimalee is looking forward to fitting her entire family in one vehicle and being able to get her children to school and extra curricular activities. We are so happy for you Moshimalee!
