On April 25th, Wheels4Hope hosted its 4th Annual Charity Golf Event and celebrated with a car blessing. Five families received safe, reliable transportation at the event. Sheree Carter and her family arrived by taxi to the event. They joyfully left in a Buick LeSabre. Grace Community Church sponsored the vehicle repair costs by assisting with a financial donation and celebrating in Sheree’s success.
Sheree was homeless and working at the downtown Raleigh Chick-fil-A. When she moved into her own place, her co-workers were so impressed with her fortitude, they pulled together and bought her furniture, home items, and Christmas gifts for her two children (ages 10 and 16). She has been working closely with Families Together, who referred her to Wheels4Hope to purchase a program car. Sheree said, “Getting a car means I will be able to work more hours and not being limited because of the bus schedule. I can go back to school, take my children to their appointments and be able to see more of North Carolina.”
People referred from Wheels4Hope’s partner agencies purchase a Program Car for $500 (plus tags & title fees), including a 6-month warranty. Sheree was one of the five people receiving their vehicle on April 25th. Together we are turning donated cars turn into local blessings!
